Ah, a beautiful day with the sun shining, a light breeze, temperature about 70 degrees and warming slightly, a good day for outside chores, breathing in the fresh air, enjoying all our blessings! Today is the kind of day to open your mind to the subliminal inspiration that only Mother Nature can provide for creativity. ENJOY!

in graphic design, a term used to describe the aesthetic or harmony of elements, whether they are photos, art or copy, within a layout or design.

In life, balance is also about harmony…of our environment, relationships, mental attitude, health and fitness, spirituality. We feed that harmony with our thoughts, whether positive or negative.

Mozilla Firefox vs IE7

I have always been an IE user since it was first available. I opened the site this morning and all my navigation had disappeared! Trying not to panic, I tried deactivating and re-activating all the various plug-in features and made sure I had not changed something improperly in the CSS file. Then the thought struck me, let’s see what happens in Firefox. Whew, to my relief, the site navigation is (and apparently had been!) functioning properly. Not necessarily to my surprise, my IT contacts are right…Firefox shows my web pages cleaner and with all the intended features, while IE7 does not. I don’t think I will tell them (the IT guys) that I now agree with them, but at least you and I know that if something is off in IE, take a look in Firefox. It doesn’t mean that a fix cannot be pursued, but at least nothing has been lost.

Finding Inspiration

Inspiration for a design comes from many sources, from the texture of an aging iron gate to the riotous colors at a favorite garden center. Ideas burst out from unexpected venues. Be open to inspiration, allowing your imagination to roam freely,  balancing concepts with your instincts, and the creative results can be amazing.
